Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
