Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Officers reported they were contacted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.

A senior official said the attack rendered him speechless and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
