19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player secured his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an better serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four early break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
